What caption format does this subtitle burner support?

Will burning subtitles degrade the original video quality?
Since the video is re-rendered frame-by-frame on a canvas at its native resolution, there might be a minor change in compression quality depending on browser-native video encoders, but the visual text overlay will remain sharp.
